With six GFC C team players in the squad this game was always going to be atight one against in form First Tower Utd reserve team. But there was no thought of this after 30 minutes play when GFC Reserve team was 3 -0 up thanks to goals from:-
1) Steve Ashton - a close range tap in after the goalkeeper pparried Jason Bynre’s shot
2) A 30 yard screamer from Ginio Grassini into the top left hand corner of the goal
3) A Penalty kick by Peter Hall
But the game all changed when First Tower scored from a corner just before half time.
In the second hallf GFC Reserve team could not perform, and a combination of poor passing, tiredness and defensive errors contributed to First Tower scoring three further goals.
