The half time whistle saw "The Groove" going into the break with a slender 1-0 lead. A goal scored by a lively Roberto Da Silvera, but he would be first to accept, he owes the goal to an exceptional goal saving tackle by Elvio Da Sliva. This lead to the fast break which culminated in Roberto's neatly taken goal. Mention must also go to Richard Dyer's goalkeeping, two fine saves early on to prevent Wanderers taking the lead.
The second half started as the first finished, Grouville dominating play. The young defensive pair of Rhys and Elvio, well supported by the experienced Gino and Simon, keeping
Wanderers chances to long range efforts. A" Blitz" of 3 quick goals, the best a fine solo effort by super-sub Gary McCrossan, securing the 3 points. Peter, Luke, Hellio and Sean Ganley all had fine games. Paul Walker and Martyn Noel both did well coming of the bench, showing the clubs strength in depth. Two late goals epitomised the excellent team display.
The outstanding performance was that of Steve Aston, an all action display in the heart of midfield and the scorer of 4 well taken goals. Man of the Match.
