Match Highlights.....
The kick off was delayed by 25 minutes due to a mix up with the referee’s appointment. Thankfully Russell Barry agreed to referee at very short notice.
Once the game kicked off it was clear that GFC Reserve Team was too strong for Sporting Academics. In fact three goals were scored in the first 10 minutes. Two from Paul Nicell and the third from Paul Lees.
Continual pressure resulted in two further goals before half time both scored in a similar way, with Paul Nicell rounding the goalkeeper to score from close range.
The second half followed a similar pattern but by now the Sporting Academicals defence improved their marking, thus making life more difficult for the GFC forwards. Even so Paul Nicell scored his fifth and substitute Dan Grills completed the scoring.
As a result of this win GFC Reserve Team remain top of their division having won all of their league games.
