Match Highlights.....
Playing against Jersey Wanderers 1st team, this was going to be a difficult game for GFC Reserve Team.
Our opponents were a young side with lots of pace and like playing a short passing game. Our players first priority was to stop this happening by giving our opponents no time to settle on the ball.
This tactic worked and the result may have been different if Paul Nicell had scored from close range.
Jersey Wanderers were fortunate to take the lead after Lee Sabiston, who had an excellent game in defence, tripped over the ball. The Jersey Wanderers forward shot past the advancing Andrez Czapiga.
The game continued to be played at high pace but both goalkeepers were not troubled.
In the last 10 minutes, with Grouville pushing forward Andrez made several good saves, but one of those resulted in Jersey Wanderers scoring a second from close range.
Overall a very good performance by GFC Reserve Team
